Although I have just started to explore the field of parasitology, I am slowly developing a strong interest in studying the parasitologic diseases aimed at host-parasite interactions. I view this to be a huge field since there is allot eye to be discovered on the ecology of parasites, which may shed light on the wildlife diseases and epidemiology studies, as well as the diversity of this group. Findings from parasites ecology have several implications especially in the understanding of parasites adaptation through different strategies and the host adjustments or counter adaptation as their defense mechanism from the parasites. Therefore, my main interest in parasitology study centers within this idea, with an emphasis on the physiological properties of parasites and its host that allows their continuing interactions. Apart from this, I also would be very interested to learn the taxonomy of parasites and the co-evolution of this group with their associated host. With this, I would be able to see the larger picture of the interaction between parasites and hosts.

As I am still nurturing myself in the field of vector and parasites, I am also very receptive in learning urban wildlife and diseases.

Final Year Thesis (2008/2009)
