RESEARCH INTEREST
I have a background in molecular ecology of RNA viruses and bacteria. My general research interest focuses on understanding the ecology and evolutionary dynamics of pathogens. I have worked with Prof. Dr. Mary Poss in understanding the consequences of live virus vaccination on the evolution of avian Paramyxovirus type 1 via in silico studies. In addition, I am also interested in understanding the cross-species transmission, pathogenesis and the evolution of this virus through in vivo and in vitro experiment studies. I am also interested in understanding the metagenomics of viral enteric reservoirs of non-human primates and the consequence of diet on the viral ecology of this animals. My research interests also include, but not limited to the biodiversity and ecology of insect and mammalian viruses and bacteria.
