Research activities
My research interest focusses on the vegetative propagation on selected plant species as well as on the forest ecophysiology.

The last three decades have seen the declining of plant resources due to extensive forest logging. The need to replenish the forest resources has been regarded as a big challenge to forest planners, managers and scientists; brought them to seminars, workshops to discuss strategies and means to rehabilitate the forests.

Any reforestation project needs a huge supply of quality planting stocks that are able to sustain the disturbed microclimate. Tropical plants, especially timber species are known for poor flowering frequency; hence, an alternative method of producing planting stock is needed to ensure the success of any reforestation project. Vegetative propagation through rooting of cuttings and tissue culture are two potential alternative techniques to conventional mean. Hence, research in these areas are seen as a new challenge to establish a good protocol for new planting stock production. At the same time the ecophysiological studies on plant growth should be given due attention too.
