Research activities
My research interests is in documentation of tropical rainforest ecology and investigation of factors that determined or influenced the floristic structure, composition, dominance and abundance of such forests. This research has been conducted in Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary Park, Lundu, Batu Lawi, Bario, Bakun, Belaga, Gunung Santubong, Kuching, Urban forest, Peat Swamp Unimas, Crocker Range and Pulau Balambangan Sabah, Sungai Sarawak Catchment and Sematan Mangrove forest.

Due to decrease in forested lands in Sarawak resulting from intensive logging and indiscriminate clearing for shifting cultivation, it is extremely important to rehabilitate the degraded areas with ecologically and commercially valuable species such as belian, ensurai, tapang, ramin, bamboo and herbaceous plants. Research activities are focused on ecology, ecophysiology, potential for commercial cultivation and conservation measures. My research activities on both belian and bamboo are financed under IRPA.
