Research interest
Models are tools used in environmental management worldwide. With models, different scenarios can be simulated and decisions made without time-consuming and extensive fieldwork. My interest is in mathematical modeling of decay and movement of pollutants such as fecal bacteria, pesticides, phosphorus, and nitrate on land and in water in order to reduce surface water pollution. My research areas include quantifying adsorption and die-off of E. coli in different soils and the die-off of E. coli in the waste water lagoons, efficiency of waste water lagoons, and determination of the carrying capacity of water bodies for aquaculture using modeling approach.
