About Course

Programme Plant Resource Science and Management (Bachelor of Science with Honours (Plant Resource Science and Management) obtained accreditation in 1993. This programme provides a comprehensive knowledge and skill in management needed for sustainable and conservation of plant resources in agriculture, forestry, landscape and biotechnology sectors to ensure sufficient human capital to address the need of the country or elsewhere. These sectors have been identified as an important economic generating revenue towards achieving the Malaysia’s vision of becoming a develop nation. With the current implementation and initiative of the National Economic Key Areas (NKEAs) in which agriculture and plantation sectors are identified as one of the 12 key areas, increase of job opportunity in the broad spectrum in these sectors are inevitable. These opportunities will be of great advantage for students opting to this programme to establish their carrier in the related field of plant science and plantation management.

Programme Educational Objective (PEO):

The programme shall produce graduates who are

· Skilful, competent, and knowledgeable in the field of plant resource science and management,

· Able to apply and upkeep with the development of technology in the field, taking into considerations of the environmental impacts,

· Able to think critically, work as a team, communicate effectively, solve problems professionally, and demonstrate good leadership qualities, ethics, and integrity, and

· Interested in exploring opportunities in entrepreneurship

2. Undergraduate Funding

Student can apply for a loan/scholarship/sponsorship from various organizations namely Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia (JPA), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional Malaysia (PTPTN), state government, statutory bodies and the private sectors. Details can be obtained directly from the respective establishment mentioned. Advertisements for the offer of loan/scholarship/sponsorship will usually be advertised in local newspaper.
Student who has obtained a loan/scholarship/sponsorship for their studies at the University, they need to submit a copy of the loan’s/scholarship’s/sponsorship’s letter of offer on the registration day.
To assist students, the Student Affairs, Alumni Division (Undergraduate Student) and the Centre of Graduate Studies (Postgraduate Student) will contact the loan/scholarship/sponsorship representative from time to time for sources of aid.


This unit is responsible for assisting students during orientation week in matters pertaining to loans, scholarship or sponsorship. It acts as an intermediary that disseminates information on loans and sponsorships to new students, and supports students in obtaining them during their study period in UNIMAS by way of :-

Giving information concerning applicable loan/scholarship/sponsorship
Assisting students with documentations to ensure smooth application progress
Main functions:

Organising meeting sessions for both sponsors and sponsored students from time to time
Coordinating activities organised by sponsors for sponsored students
Providing sponsors with student progress reports of each semester for payment purposes


For local students, you are required to fill the online UPU application. Intake is once a year - September. For International Students, you are required to fill the online form at CGSWeb. Please complete the form before the due date stated in the UNIMAS Intake Calendar.
