Biography

I am an Inorganic Chemistry lecturer in Faculty of Resource Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). My research interests are mainly on the organic, inorganic and organometallic syntheses for different applications. We synthesize different complexes with different ligands in order to explore the catalytic activities and electronic properties such as photophysical properties and solar energy conversion efficiency. In addition, I am also interested in wastewater treatment researches. Currently, we work closely with various researchers from local and oversea universities to develop an efficient metal complex to be used water treatment technology and to explore the molecule relationship in dye sensitized solar cell.

In the past 10 years, I managed to publish about twenty-seven articles and one book chapter in either impacted and Scopus indexed journals. One of my papers titled “An insight into fluorescent transition metal complexes” in Dalton Transactions has been cited more than 50 times since 2014. Besides, another paper entitled “The influence of the push-pull effect and a π-conjugated system in conversion efficiency of bis-chalcone compounds in a dye sensitized solar cell” also has been cited 9 times since 2017.

With the help from strong research collaborations, I managed to obtain various research grants from Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and TORAY Group. The total grant amount was near to USD 100,000.
