THE 38th INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF ANALYTICAL SCIENCES (SKAM38) 2026
The 38th International Conference of Analytical Sciences 2026 (SKAM38) is jointly organized by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and the Malaysian Analytical Sciences Society (ANALIS). SKAM38 will be held on 21–22 October 2026 at The Waterfront Hotel.
Participants from universities, industries, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and venture capital providers will present their latest research findings and applications in the fields of analytical science and chemistry. The conference aims to provide a platform for researchers and professionals to share knowledge, discuss emerging research developments, and strengthen research collaborations and professional networks.
The conference will feature local and international keynote speakers, invited lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions involving researchers and postgraduate students. We expect to welcome approximately 200 local and international participants from more than 10 countries.
Since its inception in 1987, SKAM has played an important role in contributing valuable scientific findings and advancing knowledge within the analytical sciences community across various analytical-related fields.
Theme
Fostering Inclusivity in Analytical Sciences for Transformative and Sustainable Innovations
Objectives
SKAM38 supports the mission of the Malaysian Analytical Sciences Society (ANALIS) through the following objectives:
To advance analytical sciences and promote the transfer of knowledge in the field,
To provide a platform for critical discussion, exchange of ideas, and professional advice on matters related to analytical sciences, and
To promote collaboration among members of ANALIS as well as with external organizations that share similar goals and interests.

The symposium will feature keynote presentations, parallel sessions, and poster presentations. The topics to be covered include:

- Separation
- Synthesis
- Environmental
Conference Highlights
The conference will be held at The Waterfront Hotel, located in the heart of Kuching, Sarawak.
The organizers invite academics, scientists, researchers, and postgraduate students to present their research through oral or poster presentations on topics listed under the Conference Topics.
Abstracts must be submitted together with the online registration form no later than 16 September 2026, or emailed to skam38abstract@gmail.com with the subject line “Abstract_SKAM38_Full Name of Presenter.” Authors are required to prepare their abstracts using the SKAM38 Abstract Template, which can be downloaded from the conference website.
Full papers should be submitted through the website of the Malaysian Journal of Analytical Sciences (MJAS) at https://mjas.analis.com.my/. Authors are required to register and submit their manuscripts via the online system before 16 October 2026.
All submitted papers will undergo peer review by the Editorial Board of MJAS, a Scopus-indexed journal. Accepted papers will be published in the journal as regular articles. Authors should use the SKAM38 MJAS Full Paper Template, which can be downloaded from the conference website.
